Senator Mike Parson
Lafayette County Republicans will hold their annual
summer picnic inside La Bella Winery on Thursday evening, July 10th.
Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and the program at 7. The event is co-hosted by the
Republican Central Committee and the Federated Republican Women’s Club of
Lafayette County. The public is invited. Note: LaBella Winery
is located 500 yards off of Highway FF and Flournoy School Road near Wellington.
Missouri Senator Mike Parson (R-District 28) will discuss
the “Protecting the Right to Farm Amendment” that will be on the August 5th
ballot as well as other agricultural issues. He will
share how agriculture is being threatened in Missouri. Sen. Parson commented: “Agriculture
provides our citizens with food, energy, jobs, and economic security. As
Missouri’s top industry, agriculture is an important economic engine and a
crucial component of our state’s financial well-being.”
Laclede County's senator, Republican Mike Parson of
Bolivar, has been an advocate of the Protecting the Right-to-Farm Amendment
since its introduction in the Missouri legislature. In an effort to give more
information to voters, Parson has hit the road for a series of informational
meetings in communities throughout Missouri. Sen. David Pearce (District 21)
will introduce Sen. Parson. (Eight counties, including all of
Lafayette County, make up the 21st Senatorial District.)
Sen. Parson will also
explain the August 5th ballot Language for Amendment 1--Protecting the Right-to-Farm, that
reads as follows:
“Proposes amending the Missouri Constitution to
include language forever guaranteeing the right of farmers and ranchers to
engage in agricultural production and ranching practices.” From HJR Nos. 11
& 7 (5/14/13) Sponsor
Rep. Bill
Reiboldt (R – Neosho).
