JUNE

Thursday, June 26 --Joint meeting of Central Committee and Friends and Federated Women's Club of Lafayette County at the Belarussian Baker and Restaurant, Higginsville. Two meat-buffet dinner at 6:30 PM with program to follow. No business meeting. Dinner is Dutch Treat and includes two meats, potato, vegetable, salad, coffee or tea, and dessert bar. Wine and beer cash bar.

PROGRAM: Sen. Kurt Schaefer (R-Columbia) to speak on why he opposes Medicaid expansion in Missouri. 

JULY

Thursday, July 10th -- SUMMER PICNIC/BARBECUE -- Republican Central Committee and Federated Republican Women of Lafayette County will be your hosts at LaBella Winery.  Public invited.

TIME: Dinner at 6 p.m. with speaker at 7 p.m. Wine cash bar.
PROGRAM:  "Protecting the Right to Farm" and other agricultural issues by Missouri State Senator Mike Parson, District 28. 

DINNER DETAILS:  The Central Committee will provide meat (barbecue) and buns, potatoes, as well as cake and ice cream.  FRW will provide service and coffee, tea, soft drinks. Please bring one dish for every two people (a vegetable, fruit tray, salad, relishes, etc.).
 
LOCATION: 500 yards off of Hwy FF and Flournoy School Rd. in Wellington, MO

Saturday, July 12th--A Birthday Party for Russell Kruse, Republican candidate for Associate Circuit Judge, Division 2, Lafayette County.  Begins at 6 p.m. at their home, 903 SE 2nd, Concordia, Mo.  YOU ARE INVITED: Birthday picnic with amazing food prepared by Russ's wife Beth (who is, incidentally, known for her delicious fare). According to State Statute, each Legislative District shall meet on August 20th, 2014, to reorganize and elect officers.

The 53rd Legislative District is composed of all of Lafayette County and its eight townships, two townships from Jackson County (Fort Osage and Sni-A-Bar) and four from Johnson County (Columbus, Grover, Hazel Hill, and Simpson).

Members of the committee will include the committeeman and committeewoman elected on August 5, 2014, from each of the townships/wards that make up the legislative district.

According to state statute, members of the 21st Senatorial Committee will include the Chair and Vice Chair of the following county and legislative district committees: Counties: Caldwell, Carroll, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Ray, Saline; Legislative Districts: 7th, 8th, 39th, 47th, 48th, 51st, 52nd, 53rd, and 54th).

Proxies must be signed by the committee member giving the proxy and held by a qualified voter of the ward, township or sub-district of the committee member giving the proxy. All proxies must be notarized, and no more than one proxy shall be voted by any one person. Exception is if that person holds more than one position example county vice chair and legislative chair.

Bylaws and/or a constitution shall be adopted at each organization meeting and may be changed or amended within 60 days of the reorganization meeting pursuant to Missouri State Law §115.627.

Campaign Finance Laws: If upon reorganization your committee has elected a new Treasurer, or has a new committee address and is already filing with the Missouri Ethics Commission (MEC); the committee is required to file an Amended Statement of Committee organization with the MEC within 5 days of reorganization. This form can be accessed on the MEC’s website along with important calendars and documents pertaining to Missouri campaign finance laws at www.mec.mo.gov .
